“Every couple of months, this writer’s feisty 70-year-old neighbor collects a carload of like-minded friends, piles them in her minivan, and trucks off to Delta Down racetrack in Vinton, La.
They seldom return “winners” but they all have wonderful times spending untold hours (and dollars) at the slot machines.
One has to wonder if it wouldn’t be prudent (and safer) for these septuagenarians if they would stay a little close to home. After all, we have the stunning Sam Houston Race Track, in near northwest Houston, just down the road.”
