A recent Lubbock Avalanche-Journal points out that “there are more than 90 casino-related destinations across Oklahoma, including a handful within driving distance from Lubbock. Several smaller casinos are found on Interstate 40 near Clinton and El Reno with the larger gaming centers in Lawton, Duncan and Thackerville, just off Interstate 35.”
There is no escaping the fact that our neighbors have us surrounded! Texas’ borders are lined with casinos in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico. Texans spend over $2.5 billion in these states each year, and $1 billion goes to Oklahoma alone! Check out our map that shows where these casinos are located and just how easily accessible they are from Texas.
The simple truth is that Texans are gambling – but our neighbor states are reaping the rewards. Let’s keep the money here to support our schools, jobs, and roads and not those in our neighboring states.
